CENTERING CH # 1 ON THE Tx HANDPIECE.

The following applies to all RCS DSM2 TX handpieces.

The RCS Tx battery will eventually go flat if left switched on.  The operating program will likely be disrupted.

The Ch # 1 centering on the TX Handpiece system will need to be reset;

1.)  A Centre OFF ESC. Speed & direction on the Ch # 1 knob.  Set big knob at the détente (click).

1.)  B Low OFF ESC. Speed control on the Ch # 1 knob.  Set big knob slightly CW past the détente (click).

2.)  Press the ON – OFF button to turn the TX handpiece ON.   LED light will come ON.

3.)  Within 60 seconds, press and hold the bind button for 20 seconds.

4.)  After 20 seconds the TX handpiece ON – OFF LED light will go off.

5.)  Release Bind button.

6.)  LED light will come back ON.  Centre reset is complete.

ALWAYS COMPLETE THE ABOVE PROCEDURE WHEN REPLACING THE 9 VOLT BATTERY.

TROUBLESHOOTING
THE RCS SERIES OF ESC'S.
PLEASE READ THE SYSTEM INSTRUCTIONS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS.

FEEDBACK FROM USERS IS,
NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN THE SYSTEM IS TURNED ON.
SOLUTION = MAKE SURE THE THROTTLE STICK IS ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN TURNING
THE SYSTEM ON.
IF IT IS NOT ALL THE WAY DOWN, THE SYSTEM CANNOT START UP.

GENERAL COMMENT ON THE SPEKTRUM DX5e R/C SYSTEM.
IF THE SYSTEM DOES NOT RESPOND CORRECTLY, SUCH AS NOT ENOUGH THROTTLE MOVEMENT TO ACHIEVE TOP SPEED.
MAKE SURE THE RATE SWITCH IS SET TO HI.

POSSIBLE ODD PROBLEM WITH EARLIER RCS ESC's.
Please read the following in case you have a weird problem with either of the BTL-V10,  BTL-VA1 & BTL-VB1operating programs.

PLEASE NOTE, it is possible to accidentally turn on the Ch # 5 switch or knob during operation.

What may happen is this:
When the Ch # 5 switch or knob is turned on during operation, there is no immediate effect. However, when the throttle is returned to zero & the direction set to neutral the system will immediately go into program mode.
THE LIGHTS WILL GO OUT & YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF ANYTHING.

SOLUTION:
FIRSTLY TURN THE TX OFF.  THEN TURN CH # 5 SWITCH/KNOB OFF.

IF NO LIGHTS FLASH WHEN THE SYSTEM IS TURNED BACK ON IT WILL BE OK TO RESUME OPERATION.
IF THE LIGHTS FLASH,
TURN THE TX OFF THEN DOUBLE CHECK THE CH # 5 SWITCH OR KNOB IS REALLY OFF.

THE PROBLEM IS THIS.
IF THE LIGHTS DO GO OUT
WHEN THE THROTTLE IS RETURNED TO ZERO & THE DIRECTION SET TO NEUTRAL,
YOU HAVE ACCIDENTALLY PUT THE SYSTEM INTO PROGRAMMING MODE.
IF YOU MOVE THE DIRECTION CHANGE STICK UPWARDS YOU WILL ACTUALLY CHANGE THE PROGRAMMING.
AS YOU MOVE THE STICK UPWARDS (FORWARDS) THE LIGHTS WILL FLASH.
WHAT FUNCTION YOU ACTUALLY REPROGRAM WILL DEPEND ON HOW MANY TIMES THE STICK IS PUSHED.
RCS HAS HAD USERS WHO HAVE ACCIDENTALLY REPROGRAMMED THE TOP SPEED TO ZERO, RESULTING IN DIRECTION CHANGE WORKING, BUT THERE BEING NO SPEED OUTPUT.

THE SITUATION IS EASILY RECTIFIED.
DELIBERATELY GO INTO PROGRAMMING MODE AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE # 6.
GO THROUGH THE PROCEDURE FOR 3.5 SPEED RESET.
THIS WILL TAKE THE MAX - MIN SPEED BACK TO THE FACTORY DEFAULT.
THEN TURN THE SYSTEM OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD BE READY TO GO.
YOU MAY NEED TO RECALIBRATE THE SYSTEM AS WELL.

THE FUTURE.

THE BTL-vA1 & BTL-vB1 SYSTEMS CAN BE UPGRADED.  I WILL NEED THE DECODER PART OF THE SYSTEM BACK HERE FOR REPROGRAMMING.  RCS WILL PAY THE AIR POSTAGE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO YOU.

UNFORTUNATELY THE BTL-V10 PROGRAM CANNOT BE UPGRADED SO BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL USING CH # 5.
